I was in a depressed state of mind this evening. The following paragraph, the result of this mood, has ended up in my notebook while I sat at the table feeling down:
What damnable men we be. Will we not cease to revel in our stubborness? Will we never open our eyes to our selfishness, our ignorance, our tempers, our manner of conduct and speech? Will there be no end to our blind vanity? Will we ever continue in our pathetic and infantile state of stagnation? Will we ever ascend from our pitiful wallowing in the pits of filth, will we always slip into slime pits time and time again, never mustering will enough to get a hold of God and let him pull us out? Will we forever arrogantly defend our own intentions, emotions, desires, and be grievously wounded by any and all rebuke, teaching, correction, abuse? Shall we plant our flag and rally our defenses in order to protect our grandoise and so very important feelings and rights while consoling our contracted minds with extravagent self-pity? What wretched men we be! Will we forever hold our petty grudges against those who wrong us and hurt us? Will we forever blindly and insensitively butcher the feelings of those around us with harsh and innappropriate words that could have easily been avoided? That could have built up and not torn down? God help us all.
How are you so depressed when you have the creator of the universe on your side?
Bet you though that you got rid of me and my royal buddies.
But I am Back…
Sometimes I can feel even more depressed than that. I always avoid writing down though. Usually somethings happens that reminds me like Anon said that God is on our side.
