You often you here people saying how Jesus made the ‘ultimate’ sacrifice. Dying on the cross, right? Personally, dying doesn’t seem like much to me. I mean, *I* can die. Anyone can die. There were lots of martyrs too, right? “Well,” you say, “He didn’t just die, he died a torturous death! He died on a cross after all. That’s pretty painful, right?” It still seems to me like that isn’t much for saving the world. I mean, I’d be willing to die on a cross to save everyone who ever lived… seems like a small sacrifice for such a great gain.
Well, as you might have guessed by now, Jesus didn’t just ‘die.’
Isaiah 53:5
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
Jesus suffered what we would have had to suffer; ALL the blame, ALL the wrath, ALL the righteous fury of God. God the father crushed him. Do you realize the full meaning of that? Well stop and think for a moment. Today, this comes to mind rarely, if ever.
Think of hundreds of billions of people being eternally–ETERNALLY–tortured in hell by the wrath of God the father. Now put all of that into a couple of hours, on one person: Jesus. Think about that, cause you can’t do it enough. We take going to heaven for granted, but next time that thought surfaces, think about what Jesus had to endure for a moment. And make sure you thank him from the bottom of your heart.

Caleb! How come there’s no comment option for the post above? *wants to comment on it really badly*
Alright, I’ll comment for it here.
That’s a great song! I’ve had it stuck in my head for about ten minutes now. *is laughing* It’s too bad you live so far away, because if you didn’t, it would be so cool if I could sing your songs for you while you play! I can totally hear this song played by an orchestra, too, and it sounds great.
Where do you come up with the music for your songs? *smiles*
God bless, Caleb!
