My name is Caleb Hayashida. I am the author of this blog, Hostile Legacy.
A few things about me, in order of importance.
A. First and foremost I am concerned with doing all that is commanded me even as an unprofitable servant of God. I seek to bring God’s will to be done on earth just as it is in heaven. I seek the redemption of creation and the salvation of the world. This is why Jesus came to earth, and I wish to offer my services in whatever manner I can. Much has been given to me and I can only attempt to give what is required of me.
B. I love people; little children most of all. They are beautiful pictures of God’s glorious work of man, and out of their mouths ring words of innocent truth.
C. I love truth and beauty. I seek these in Theology, Philosophy, and Art.
D. I love being non-conformist, playing devils advocate, and being entirely confusing so that it’s impossible to put me in a box or categorize me.
E. I love music. I am a musician of sorts. I love to pick up instruments and teach myself to play them. I write and record music. I listen to music of all sorts: rock, blues, dubstep, gregorian chant, classical, folk, pop, church, celtic, jazz, rap, indie, and whatever else I can get my hands on. Go buy my album on amazon or itunes. Or look up my name on youtube.
F. I have an ongoing affair with tobacco. Although my interest has waned in recent months, I still smoke my faithful pipe Edera rather frequently. My relationship with the aforementioned may be summed up in a poem I wrote – My Lady Nicotene.
And that’s pretty much all there is to me. In Summary…
1) God and redemption
2) People; especially children
4) Unpredictable Uncategorizablility
